Your everyday life – contribute to our development with a focus on security

The IT unit is an important support function within the Fortifications Agency, consisting of approximately 50 employees and continuing to grow. We work with both regular and security-protected IT environments. We are divided into four groups: IT support, IT system management and development, IT security, and IT architecture and infrastructure.

In the role of IT Architect with us, you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of integrated system solutions. We offer a strategic and technical role where you will be responsible for designing our architecture, defining how data is managed and integrated, and ensuring that the development of our IT systems is sustainable, robust, and efficient in the long term. The position requires a high presence at the Eskilstuna office. In this role, you will:

• Contribute to the design and development of the agency's IT architecture with a focus on integrations, data flows, and IT systems
• Participate in the development of guidelines and working methods for data management, integration, and architecture
• Design current state analyses of system environments and contribute improvement proposals based on technology, management, and business benefits
• Write and maintain technical documentation for integrations, system maps, and data flows
• Support projects with technical expertise and participate in implementation projects
• Develop and manage the integration architecture
• Analyze and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement of existing integrations, technologies, systems, processes, and principles.
• Act as a technical contact point towards internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure that requirements in procurements are consistent with architectural principles

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in computer science, systems science, information technology, or something we consider equivalent. You have worked in the IT field, for example as a system developer, technical specialist, or in system integration. You may also be at the beginning of your career as an IT architect/solution architect. The role requires a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, including experience in writing technical documentation and user manuals. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as well as a B driver's license.

It is advantageous if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• knowledge and experience in database management and data modeling, preferably with experience in MS SQL Server and work with ETL processes, data warehouses, and data pipelines
• knowledge in integration solutions and API management
• working with data integration, ETL processes, and modern data platforms
• knowledge in Python, C#, and/or .NET
• experience with IoT platforms, event-driven integration patterns, or similar technologies
• understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and automation of system flows to contribute to a modern development and operations environment

What do we offer you?

The position is a permanent employment and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be placed in a military position. The location is Eskilstuna. An employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and entails placement in a security class. A security check with a background check will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
